Mechanical Estimator - M&E Company
Connect Grp UK Ltd is currently recruiting on behalf of a reputable M&E contractor based near Dartford, Kent, for a permanent Mechanical Estimator role. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional with a background in mechanical estimation to join a growing team and work on diverse projects across South London, Kent, and surrounding areas. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in estimating mechanical systems such as HVAC, plumbing, and heating, with a strong understanding of project costs, tendering processes, and design specifications. Requirements for the Role:
- Relevant engineering qualification in Mechanical or Building Services.
- At least 2-3 years’ comprehensive experience in mechanical estimation within construction or MEP sectors.
- Proficient in estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite, with a solid understanding of mechanical building services design and installation.
- Strong knowledge of current building regulations, standards, and codes of practice.
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and communication skills, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
Responsibilities in the Role:
- Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for a range of mechanical services including HVAC, ventilation, plumbing, and specialist systems.
- Analyse project drawings, specifications, and tender documentation to identify material, labour, and equipment requirements.
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and assist in tender submissions.
- Attend pre-tender meetings and site visits, building relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners.
- Maintain detailed records of estimates, prepare tender documentation, and support the project team with cost planning and risk assessment.
